What to expect

A deeper practice in the heat

Experience Yoga differently in Knutsford’s only infrared heated studio. Our Hot Yoga classes combine the practice of Yoga with the enveloping warmth of infrared heat, creating an immersive space to move, breathe, focus and switch off from everything outside the room.

Why infrared? Not just a hot room

Rather than simply warming the air around you our studio uses infrared heating panels to create a comfortable, radiant heat throughout the space. As the room warms, many people find that their bodies begin to feel more mobile and their practice more fluid. The heat adds another dimension to the practice, and rather than pumping the heat into the room, which can feel claustrophobic, the heat can create a nurturing yet challenging experience.

What does a SATYA HEAT actually feel like?

Warm, focused, sweaty and surprisingly meditative. There’s something about stepping into the heated studio that immediately changes the atmosphere. Phones are away, outside distractions start to disappear and for that one class, your attention comes back to your breath, your body and the space you’re occupying. Some days you might feel strong and energetic, others you might modify, both are here. At Satya the aim is never to “survive” the heat or compete with the person next to you, the heat is simply another element of the practice.

Your first HEAT Class? Here’s what you need to know!

What should I wear?
Lightweight comfortable clothing, that you’re happy to sweat in

What should I bring?
Bring plenty of water. Mats and props are provided, although you’re welcome to bring your own

Should I eat beforehand?
Most people prefer not to eat a large meal immediately before a heated class. Give yourself time to digest and arrive well hydrated.

Do I have to stay in every posture?
Absolutely not, rest whenever you need to. Child’s pose is always available and you can leave a posture at any point.

I’ve never done Yoga/Pilates before, can I still come to a Satya HEAT class?
Of course! All of our classes are tailored to all levels!

Is Hot Yoga/Pilates suitable if I have a medical condition?
Hot Yoga isn’t unfortunately suitable for everyone. If you have a medical condition, take medication that may affect your ability to regulate body temperature, or hydration, or have any concerns about exercising in heat, please speak to an appropriate health care professional before attending. Always let your teacher know before practice if there is anything relevant to your practice so that they can support you. Our teachers offer options and modifications but cannot provide medical advice or determine whether exercising in a heated environment is medically appropriate for you.

Who should take extra care with heated classes?
Certain heath conditions and circumstances can affect how your body responds to heat and exercise. This may include cardiovascular or blood-pressure conditions, conditions affecting temperature regulation, fainting, dehydration risk or medications that can influence any of the above. If you are unsure whether this applies to you, we recommend checking with your GP or healthcare professional before booking a heated class.

Can I do a SATYA HEAT class whilst pregnant?
We don’t recommend participating in Hot Yoga or Hot Pilates when pregnant as pregnancy changes the way the body regulates temperature, and overheating should be avoided. If you’re pregnant we’d love to help you find a more appropriate practice from our SATYA MAMA collection including our specialist pregnancy classes.

What if I feel unwell during class?
As with any class stop immediately and rest! Never feel that you need to finish a posture, sequence or class. If you feel dizzy, faint, nauseous or otherwise unwell, let your teacher know and move out of the heated environment if needed. Your safety always comes before completing the practice

SATYA HEAT: AWAKEN

An embodied, somatic practice inspired by Tantric Yoga, held in the warmth of our infrared heated studio. Rather than simply moving through shapes, you’ll be invited to feel your way through the practice, exploring intuitive movement, breath, sensation and awareness alongside fluid Vinyasa. A space to move out of your head and into your body, release what you’re holding and reconnect with yourself from the inside out.

SATYA HEAT: GROUNDED

A strong, steady Hatha Yoga practice in our infrared heated studio. Move with intention through individual postures, with more time to explore alignment, breath and how each shape feels in your body.
